Modern buildings offer a variety of applications for the wide range of Microtherm® thermal insulation products. Microtherm® thermal insulation products are ideal for fire resistance and passive fire protection for key building structural keywork. In lift doors and access doors to lifts from corridors, fire protection of up to 3 hours can be achieved with minimal door thickness which is particularly important with very wide access. Microtherm® cored vacuum insulation panels also have wide use in building structures. Applications are primarily in energy efficient construction, particularly the passive house which is so well insulated that no separate space heating is required. The annual heating requirements of a passive house are less than 15 kW/m2. Microtherm® cored VIPs are used in wall, floor and roof construction as well as in glass facades on modern high rise buildings.
